About the Journal
The Simpa Journal of African Studies (SJAS) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal committed to publishing high quality research on Africa. The name Simpa, a tribute to the Effutu people of Winneba, symbolises the journal’s commitment to promoting indigenous knowledge about Africa. SJAS publishes scholarly articles based on new research on any theme or subfield in African Studies. Book reviews, review essays, and reports on on-going research are also welcome. Only original works are accepted for publication and all submissions are checked for plagiarism. It is the responsibility of authors to ensure that any article submitted to SJAS is not already published or simultaneously under consideration by another journal. Submissions are reviewed by two external reviewers.
